| INJUSTICE 2 DLC UPDATE: Starfire is not the only playable character coming in August? |
Before Starfire has the chance to join Injustice 2’s ever growing roster, we could see a series of character skins, including one for Superman in with the games next patch.
In a recent tweet, game director Ed Boon has teased that Superman villain Bizzaro could make his way into the game as a Superman skin.
Boon shared the first image of the new potentially new premier skin, adding: “That's Bizarre.... OH, maybe he's an Injustice 2 skin!?”
Having debuted in DC’s Silver Age comics way back in 1958, Bizarro possesses the abilities of Superman but in reverse.
This means that the ‘negative Superman’ had powers like freeze vision and flame breath, as opposed to Superman classic heat vision and freeze breath.
Premier skins in Injustice 2 come with their own special tweaks to fit the alternate characters, including slightly different looking moves and all-new voice actors.
What's interesting is that Starfire’s SDCC character trailer showed Bizarro facing off against the former warrior Princess Koriand'r using Bizzaro’s mirror abilities in battle.
But you will likely have to spend some of your hard earned source crystals, as Bizzaro will be available for 6,000 of them (just like every other in-game skin).
After Bizzaro enters the game we’ll finally get to play as warrior Princess Starfire, the last character in the games first Fighter Pack DLC, which has also included the likes of Red Hood and Sub-Zero.
Her character description reads: “As the next Queen of Tamaran, Princess Koriand’r found herself the victim of her fratricidal sister's vengeful plot that resulted in their planet being conquered,”.
“Now a royal exile on Earth, Koriand’r uses her ability to absorb and convert ultraviolet energy as Starfire.”
Fans who managed to pick up special editions of the game or purchase a season pass will get first dibs, with a mid-August release expected for Starfire, a full release will likely come later.
While we're getting confirmation of all these new characters, there are still rumours floating around about future additions and the games second Fighter Pack DLC - which is already starting to look promising.
According to a Reddit thread, an image of an advert apparently showed up on the Xbox One marketplace which teased that you can “fight as Black Manta in Injustice 2”.
The potential addition of Black Manta isn’t a complete surprise, as not only does the character already appear as a stage transition, but he's also been heavily teased in the trailer from NetherRealm which revealed the games DLC roster - albeit as just a shadow.
Director of Injustice 2 Ed Boon has also been fanning the flames with some very vague indications about whether or not he will be added, saying:
"We gave little teases -- little shadow images behind them,"
"One of them looked kind of unmistakably like Black Manta, so... There's a chance he's in there."
