Friday the 13th team shares bug fixes currently in the works

More content is coming soon, but there are still a few issues for the Friday the 13th team to fix, too.

It seems the team behind Friday the 13th: The Game isn’t slowing down when it comes to addressing technical issues with the game. With the recent update bringing new smaller sized maps and a revamp on public matches, Illfonic and Gun Media have now detailed some bug fixes coming in the next update.
Community moderator Gertz’s post on the game’s official forum puts a spotlight on many areas of the game where players will see improvements. Based in part on feedback from the community, the list of fixes ranges from graphical hiccups to gameplay mechanic snafus.
One of the major issues Illfonic plans to address is in lobby creation for public matches. When matchmaking, the game would drop players from lobbies much faster than it should have while waiting for other players to join. On the backend, the server is supposed to refresh every 30 seconds, and after three attempts would kick the player back out to the new match creation menu. According to the post, the server was only waiting 10 seconds, giving barely any time to find enough users for a match. Gertz promised the issue will be fixed in the next update.
Additionally, Xbox One players have been plagued with a memory leak issue for over a month now, and although the latest update was meant to remedy the issue, it seems there’s still more work to do. Illfonic and Gun Media are now working on completely closing the leak, which would kick players out of matches, and “are close to having a solution.”
As for actual gameplay bugs, a few fixes are on the way. Players controlling Jason are having problems breaking down certain doors and windows, and certain Jason players had discovered how to trigger environmental kills without giving counselors a chance to use a pocket knife to get away. Both of these issues should be fixed to make the game feel fairer on both sides moving forward, along with some slight visual effects issues detailed in the post.
If backend work doesn’t interest you, there is plenty of new content coming soon. Among the upcoming features are a costume pack celebrating 1984 swimwear, a new version of Jason, and more kill animations. Gun Media has also been teasing a cryptic image of several black dots with one blue, which the community believes could be a nod to Pamela Voorhees or Roy Burns joining the game as a playable killer.
Friday the 13th: The Game is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
