Prestige is supposed to be an added challenge—but a glitch makes this week's Nightfall downright impossible to conquer.
With Destiny 2 continually rolling out updated content on a weekly basis, mistakes are bound to happen. However, a new glitch found in week three’s Nightfall Strike is downright baffling, as it keeps players from even finishing the mission.
As part of the weekly reset, Bungie did the standard swapping of modifiers found in the Nightfall Strike, and while players on the regular difficulty setting were gifted two modifiers for a time, the oversight by the developers has since been fixed. In a strange twist, it seems when the developer removed the Prism modifier that was not meant to be there, the Prestige version of the Strike was affected by a bug that appears on Nessus.
On this higher difficulty setting, when players reach the area that requires a pass through the blue warp beams, the transmitting zones are nowhere to be found. Of course, moving through the Strike relies heavily on these warp areas, making their absence a game-breaking experience for Prestige players. What makes it even stranger? In the normal difficulty setting the warp zones do appear.
Guardians that have encountered this issue have reported defeating a Dreg that hides on the left side of the final area can make the beams appear in the Prestige setting, but this trick only works part of the time. It’s unclear if the removal of the extra modifier caused this glitch, but players have noted they started experiencing the problem once Bungie confirmed they removed Prism.
Destiny 2 is still relatively early into its launch, so issues aren’t unexpected, but Bungie does need to address something to this magnitude as soon as possible. While waiting for the Nightfall Strike to be back to normal, Guardians can continue perfecting their skills in the Leviathan raid, like the fireteams that have already set some impressive completion records. The challenge also holds a good amount of rare loot, so using the weekly raid keys and grabbing every high-level piece of gear possible is a good way to pass the time.
