Friday the 13th: The Game Adding Part 3’s Fox As Tribute to Gloria Charles and They Need Our Help

We were incredibly bummed to learn earlier this year that Gloria Charles, best known for playing badass biker Fox in Friday the 13th: Part 3, had passed away back in December of last year. Fox is unquestionably one of the coolest characters in the franchise, and Charles’ performance may soon be immortalized in Friday the 13th: The Game!

Bloody Disgusting has exclusively learned today, via Gun Media’s Wes Keltner, that the game is looking to add Fox as a playable character. All of the characters right now (aside from Tommy Jarvis, who isn’t available at the selection screen) are inspired by horror victim archetypes rather than directly based on characters from the movies, so the inclusion of Fox would be a massive treat for hardcore fans of the film franchise.

And it would also be a wonderful tribute to the late Gloria Charles.

As Keltner explained to us, the only holdup is that the team has been unable to get in touch with Charles’ family. They’re eager to pay tribute to the late actress by making her a playable character, but they need our help in locating the right contact.

“We’ve had a soft spot for Fox since we first saw her in Part 3,” Keltner told us. “She was tough, pretty, and seemed to take time to have fun (swinging on the rope in the barn; ‘This feels gooooood!”). I never got the chance to meet Gloria Charles in real life, but something tells me that some of those same characteristics were a part of her real persona too. We wanted to pay tribute to that character, but more importantly, Gloria. It’s a shame that we lost her. My heart sank when I read the news of her passing. We gathered as a team and collectively agreed. If there’s something we can do, we should do it.”

He continued, “We’ve tried locating agents or members of her estate, but can’t seem to nail down the proper contact. That’s where I’m hoping the fans will help out. The fans built the films and our game, so we’re going back to them to ask another favor. Help us locate her estate and pay tribute to Gloria Charles. We realize this is a small gesture, perhaps trivial to some… but to us and all the F13 fans out there, it’s more than that. Let’s pay tribute to a wonderful actress and bring Fox back to Crystal Lake.”

How can you help? Spread the word far and wide. If you find some spare time, maybe even do a little researching. I can think of no better way to honor the life and career of Gloria Charles than by bringing her iconic Friday the 13th character into Friday the 13th: The Game. And if we all band together, we can make this awesome tribute a reality.
