Destiny 2 infusion trick will help you get the most out of your weapons

This infusion tip in Destiny 2 can be a little complicated to understand but very helpful for those that use it.

Destiny 2 players can get an edge on upping their Power Level by taking advantage of one small trick when infusing weapons.
Destiny 2‘s weapon infusion grants players the ability to raise the damage and Power Level of a weapon by infusing it with a superior one. This can benefit the player even more when it comes to weapons loaded with weapon mods, which can be slotted into a weapon for stat buffs like improved reload speed or accuracy. These mods come in different rarities, just like all other gear. Legendary mods grant a bonus 5 points of power level, which may not seem like much until players begin infusing weapons.
If the player has a weapon with 250 power—let’s call it Weapon A—but equips it with a Legendary mod, its power level will be listed as 255: the 250 base level, and then a +5 bonus. Infusing a 260 weapon—which we’ll call Weapon B—into Weapon A without the mod on Weapon A would normally bring it up to Weapon B’s original power of 260. Because the weapon you’re infusing into (A) has a mod, however, the +5 bonus gets added on top of its newly infused power level, making it 265 power instead of 260.
Players that keep this trick in mind when infusing weapons will enhance the speed at which they can rank up their power level—but they should note that the trick does not work if the mod is on the other weapon. Let’s replay the same example from above the example above, but imagine the mod is on Weapon B this time. With the +5 bonus shifted around, Weapon A now has a power level of 250 and Weapon B now has 265: its 260 base level, +5 from the mod. Now, when you infuse Weapon B into Weapon A, the mod (now on B) will be lost in infusion process. As a result, Weapon A will only benefit from being infused by Weapon B’s base power level of 260, with the +5 disregarded. That means you’ll end up with Weapon A at 260 power, less than you might initially expect.
Guardians should also note that mods cannot be removed once they are placed on weapons. In light of this trick, it may prove useful to think about how you’ll be infusing your weapons later on before you instal any Legendary mods.
