Following Project Scorpio Edition's success, Microsoft is ready to sell you a ton of consoles.
Confirming recent rumors, Xbox’s Major Nelson recently announced that standard Xbox One X consoles are now available for pre-order ahead of its November 7th launch date.
This announcement follows the recent success that Xbox had in selling out pre-orders of the limited-run Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition, which made Project Scorpio Editions the fast-selling Xbox console within the first five days of launching pre-orders. Hey, that may be an incredibly specific marker of success, but it’s still an accomplishment, at least according to Xbox’s marketing team.
Major Nelson also revealed that the list of “Xbox One X enhanced” titles has now grown to over 130 games, most recently with the additions of Far Cry 5, L.A. Noire, Okami HD, and GreedFall.
While Far Cry 5 may seem like an obvious addition, its development team at Ubisoft didn’t receive Xbox One X dev kits as part of the first wave to be sent out, which cast some doubt onto whether the next entry in the first-person shooter franchise would be “enhanced” for the new console.
As far as the other titles are concerned, we already knew that the L.A. Noire remaster would be running at 4K on Xbox One X (and PlayStation 4 Pro), as will Okami HD, but how developer Spiders is “enhancing” its upcoming action RPG GreedFall is still a mystery.
You can check out the full list of Xbox One X enhanced games on the official website, and remember that if you already own those games on standard Xbox One consoles, they will be enhanced “for free” (besides, you know, the cost of a new console) when you boot them up on the Xbox One X.
