Bungie makes out-of-season changes to Destiny 2’s Faction Rally

In the latest hotfix update, the developer detailed the PvP changes alongside changes to Faction Tokens.

One of Destiny 2‘s strangest glitches has revolved around the Bureaucratic Walk emote, allowing players to move through walls and normally forbidden areas. As part of its latest set of patches, Bungie has turned the emote back to merely being a reference to Monty Pythons’ Ministry of Silly Walks sketch. The removal of wall-breaking just scratches the surface in the 1.0.6 update, though, as Crucible limits, PC issues, and even changes to the now out of season Faction Rally are present in the game.
While Bungie revealed the details for the latest patch on October 27th, the formal update page lists a few name additions. In the General area, an issue kicking players in the Crucible mode back into Orbit has been fixed. Usually, Guardians are given the option to return to Orbit after each match, but there was a period where players were reportedly forced to the Destination screen after over an hour of continuous Crucible play. The force quit led many to believe Bungie was telling players to take a break, but it seems that was not at all the case.
A new set of Faction Rally updates were added, which mostly revolve around rewarding more Tokens in different events across the game.
Faction Rallies
  • Strikes now reward Faction Tokens at a range of 5 to 9 Faction Tokens per completion (up from 3 to 7)
  • Nightfall now rewards 10 to 18 Faction Tokens on first completion per character
  • Completing Heroic Public Events now rewards 5 Faction Tokens (down from 8)
  • Destroying enemy resources no longer rewards Faction Tokens
  • Opening Lost Sector Chests now rewards 3 Faction Tokens for each fireteam member
The first Faction Rally is already over, which makes the inclusion of updates to the limited-time event slightly odd. While players won’t lose collected Faction Tokens after a season ends, they will not be able to collect more until a new season starts. However, the developer has made it clear that more Faction Rallys will appear in the game down the line, so the team seems to be planning ahead.
The many Crucible changes are now in effect, too. Bungie changed several scoring limits in the various PvP modes, including Clash, Control, Survival, and Supremacy. While Supremacy will see an increase in the number of points needed to win from 50 to 70, the other three modes changed have reduced their limits. The pure free-for-all Clash mode will only require 50 points to win, while the capture-the-flag Capture mode only requires 90 points for victory. Survival, which is a timed free-for-all mode, has reduced its round time limit from three minutes to two and the life count from eight to six.
As for the recent PC version of the game, players will now see the proper amount of members in a Clan. Also, similar to the Crucible Orbit issue, players had noticed a performance degradation over extended periods of continuous playing, and thankfully, Bungie has solved the problem.
