PS4 Update 5.0 is on its way now, Sony had already announced Beta test through its blog. Users from Europe and America can apply as a beta tester via the official blog. Firmware 5.0 is a big one, so Sony seems to be prepping in advance to find the technical know-how’s, the limitations or the bugs encountered during the test period and later releasing a lot more stable version. PS4 and PS4 Pro will evenly receive the update with these fixes and a few new features.
First reported by PSU, a list of predictable features could possibly make their way through the update on consoles. There are some 6 features that are missing out on the basis of a Survey done by Sony in the year 2015. The website has done a good analysis that can be true to an extent in the case of this massive update.
According to the source news, in 2015 Sony conducted a survey on the console asking which features users would like to see in future. Sony has delivered ample of them via a various update in course of time. There are few left which we also think will be part of Update 5.0, below is the list.
- PSOne Classics
- Hide/Completely remove items from library (demo)
- Delete items from your library
- Store wish list
- Increase max number of people in a party
- Change PSN ID
Above features seems interesting, if any of these or all of them appear in the update it will allow players many new things to try out. For example PSOne Classics, this feature will let users enjoy nostalgic classic titles on the console that is still limited to PS3. Others help to have a much cleaner game library by wiping out the items that are not required, especially hiding or removing the demos will save your time in scrolling new ones. Another interesting thing is adding a max number of people in the party, you can share a lot of things with them at one time.
And finally the wish list part where you can keep the games you want to play in future with the PSN ID change, hopefully, players might have some unique name in their mind. The features offer a lot of freedom in terms of managing the console library and a bit of customization. And it looks interesting.
What do you think, what new features are you still hunting in PS4/PS4 Pro?
As you probably know, Sony has started searching for beta-testers from around the world for a few weeks for PlayStation 4 firmware update 5.0. If you are interested in participating you just need to have a PS4, a good internet connection and a Master account to be able to sign up.
The beta test will start in the early days of August 2017.
Some contries are not listed...adding them would be great...
